Cherrie Ying is criticized for her unattractive appearance and over-acting
In episode 1 Cherrie’s appearance shocks the audience. Her two big mop-like pony-tails and purple outfits do not accentuate her good figure but turn her into a country pumpkin. On the other side, the handsome Jimmy Lin in suit and tie and driving a luxury car looks charming and manly. Cherrie, however, looks “dirty”. The audience left messages on Weibo saying, “Cherry Ying looks old with her makeup. No offense but she is no match next to the baby-faced Jimmy Lin. How could they make a couple? This is awful.”
Besides her outrages appearance the audience also finds her exaggerated acting offensive. In the first 2 episodes she doesn’t even walk in a normal way, if not running or skipping like she has endless energy. In the first scene she disrupts a wedding and jumps into a lake. Her exaggerated facial expressions are embarrassing that the director likes to turn into big close-ups. The “big mouth beauty” Cherrie Ying’s mouth appears even bigger.
