A three-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Stockton-on-Tees.
Cleveland Police said the boy had visited an ice cream van moments before the incident happened in Wearport Green, Portrack, on Friday evening.
The boy, who has not yet been identified, was taken to North Tees University Hospital where he died.
A police spokeswoman said the incident involved a Ford Fiesta driven by a local woman. No-one one else was hurt. Police have appealed for witnesses.
